I am a resident of Mandaue City Cebu, the industrial city of Cebu province and the gateway to the world. This is located adjacent to Cebu City proper and joined by 2 bridges to Mactan Island. It is famous for its sweet home-made rice cake or also known as “bibingka” and its furniture business thus was dubbed the “furniture capital of the Philippines”. At the heart of the city is where you can find all the needed services in one place, ranging from legal to leisure services. Also found in Mandaue are various hotels and malls where one can find home to, which are at the same time, accessible to the airport and sea docks. There are a number of restaurants which cater to cuisines of international quality. There are also those which serve Filipino food all at the same ambience with that of restaurants outside the country. Mandaue city, like all towns in Cebu, has what we call the “Mantawi Festival”. This is a colorful event opened by street dancing and ended by a fireworks display. Home to Mandaue city are the Mandauehanons.
I am 22 years old, eldest of four children and am the only girl in the family. I live in one house with my parents. My three brothers are still in school thus making me the breadwinner. I graduated and passed the board in Nursing last 2009

私はセブ島のマンダウエに住んでいます。産業都市でもあるセブ州は、世界への窓口でもあります。セブ島はマクタン島から２本の橋で結ばれていています。セブは甘いライスケーキ、ビビンカでしられていますし、家具などでも知られていることだと思います。市の中心にはホテルや関連施設などが集まって、空港からのアクセスも良いです。レストランも充実しており、国際的なクオリティをもっています。周辺にはフィリピン料理のお店が充実しております。マウダウエはセブのように、マンタウィ祭りがあります。とてもカラフルで、踊りや花火が行われます。私は２２歳で４人兄弟の長女です。私は両親と暮らしながら、下の３兄弟がまだ学生なので働いています。私は昨年看護学校を卒業したところです。

Teaching, in the basic sense of the word is the act of sharing one’s ideas to another person. In this relationship that we are about to build, I would want this to be a two-way learning. I may be the teacher, but in time, I can also learn things from you. I would want to stress that learning the English language would not be fast, as this is not your native tongue, nor mine. However, I will try my very best to give you, my students, the finest English learning experience there is. I will make sure that each lesson that we will have together would be fun and productive. This way, learning would be easy!

教えることは、一人のアイデアを他人と共有する意味では。最も基本的なところです。 このような関係において私は２つの学びを得たいと思っています。私は講師ですが、同時に生徒の方から学びつつ、すべてのレッスンにおい多くの実りがあるようにベストを尽くします。

Recently, I have been watching “GLEE”. It is an American TV show which features 12 high school kids who happened to be bonded together through music. I like this TV program because of its musical format and the lessons that it brings to the youth. It centers on music while showing how a teenager struggles on with life. It tackled about teenage pregnancy, identity role confusions, trying to fit in to high school, and the never-ending situation in America addressing its minorities (this includes the blacks, Asians, nerds etc). It brings significant teachings to the new world, telling us that what you will be in the future, whether you’d be successful or not, everything starts in high school.

最近ではグリーという番組を見ています。アメリカのテレビショーなのですが、１２人の高校生が音楽を通じて結びついてゆくのですが、ミュージカルのようでいながら、学びがあります。話の中心には、十代の子が困難な人生を生きるというテーマがあります。そこには妊娠やアイデンティーティーの危機、学校生活、アメリカの抱えるマイノリティー問題があります。将来の自分の人生がどうなるのか、すべては高校生のころに決まりだすのだという事を伝えているようです。

Every teacher’s dream is to see their students USE what they have learned. This goes the same for me. I would want to see my students use the English language in an effective way, and that is to communicate themselves in public, looking and sounding as comfortable as possible. This is the reason why I desire to create an English environment, using only this language as the means of communication. This way, we could practice and improve over time. My greatest wish is to converse with my students in person and congratulate them personally about the achievements that they garnered through our lessons.

すべての講師の夢は、生徒の方々が学んだことを発揮することです。これは私にとっても同じことです。全ての生徒の方々が学んだ英語を使い、行く先々で豊かなコミュニケーションをとることが望みです。世界公用語である英語は何度でも練習でき進化できるものです。私の一番の望みは、レッスンを通じて、生徒の方々により多くの学びを得てもらうことです。

Big eyes, big butt and big boobs, this is what’s making anime so famous. And more often than not, we associate anime with Japan. What people don’t know is, behind the fight scenes and fashionable outfits of this art, is a silent and simple country which gave its birth. I can still remember Sailormoon, my favorite anime back when I was 7 years old. I used to draw her along with the four other lady heroes in my improvised canvass. Then there was Samurai X which talked about the historical role of the protectors of the empire called the Samurais. I really admire their bravery and loyalty to their emperor that only death can separate one from the other. Then for the modern world is Naruto, the funny orange ninja. Though Naruto is clumsy, he hardly gives up. This only goes to show how Japanese people strive hard to achieve what they want. To support this claim, we can take a look at their cities, high-end inventions and even some movies where Japan is featured, like Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift. Japan, as evidenced by their fast growing economy, is one of the best countries to go to for a vacation. I would surely want to!

大きな瞳、大きなお尻、大きな胸。。これらはもちろんアニメのキャラクターです。でも日本のアニメには影響を受けています。例えば、戦闘シーンにでさえ、隠れたファッショナブルなセンスがあります。７歳のときに見たセイラームーンはとてもよく覚えています。また当時、サムライX というものも見ました。そんな勇敢な忠誠心がすごいと思いました。最近ではナルト、面白いオレンジの忍者のアニメが好きです。ナルトは不器用ですが、決して諦めません。これらは日本人の忍耐の力を感じさせます。The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drifという映画を通じても日本の先進的な国を知ることができます。もちろん私が行きたい国の一つです！
