5. About hometown and family

My hometown is in the province of Cebu City. It is a 3rd class municipality in the province of Cebu, Philippines. The name of the place is Manlapay, Dalaguete, Cebu. My hometown is just a small place and I could say that it’s really far from the city but the good thing about my hometown is that it has fresh air, lots of trees; the place is surrounded with green plants. The people also are very hospitable and friendly. It’s good to spend summer there because the place is very relaxing and there lots of native delicacies there. We also have coconuts, vegetables and fruits there.

6. Comments to students

I really enjoyed talking to them and happy to share them ideas about life. So far, I did not encounter problems dealing with them because they are easy to get along with. The students seem to be friendly and open-minded about anything, about what they like to talk or learn. They are very responsive and I can see that they really are very eager to study and learn more about the English language. I am very much comfortable and excited when I have a class with my students because they, themselves are very good individuals and I seem to miss them when I don’t have classes. They really tell me frankly what lessons they want to take up during the class and I think it is an advantage on the part of the teacher because we don’t have to keep on guessing what the students want and think of many things on what to talk about during the class. I have some students who give me the topics immediately and it really helped me a lot, no time wasted and I am very glad that they are like that. Some of my students asked me to sing and then, without doubts I really sing for them and they also sing and I think singing is also a good practice to make your English pronunciation better. And I am inspired when they want me to sing some lines of a song because I know they could also learn English accent and enjoyed our time together while learning. I also feel very thankful that I am part of this company because I could share the best of my abilities to other people, learn from every step that I make and it will also help me develop my personality as a person.

My experiences as an English teacher before really helped me a lot right now because I have learn the needs, the pros and cons of teaching, especially English. How to deal with this kind of student, what to do if your students don’t like your style, and what is fitted to them and most importantly, how to make them understand the topic you are talking about and how to inspire them to study and learn more. I also realized that if you love your work you will not have difficulty in dealing with it and in solving problems that may arise when you are at work. At first, I would try to figure out what kind of personality my students have and then I will think of the best way that I would use so that they will understand the lesson or topics to discuss.

7. Favorite TV program and its contents

I have lots of favorites when it comes to TV shows. I like watching programs of HBO and National Geographic also. And of course, most importantly, listen to local and international news. I also watch talk shows especially if the topic is all about responsibility and life matters.

8. Goals and dreams as an English teacher

I dreamed of becoming successful in my career, do the “best of the best” to get want I dreamed of. And also, help my younger brothers and sister finish college and help them take the first and most important step to be successful…and that is to finish studying. And from that, they can take their own way on how to fulfill their dreams in life. I also dreamed of working abroad but not for a very long time I think…

9. About Japanese and Japan

Most of us know that Japan is one of the richest countries in Asia. I think that Japanese are still humble and have the willingness to help others even if they already achieve this much in terms of economy. They are very friendly and respectful. Japanese are very diligent and hard working…they manage their businesses very well that’s why they are successful. Japan has good leaders and these leaders are very discipline and have all the courage in them to really achieve their goals and aspirations.
