My hometown is Dumaguete City. It is the capital of Negros Oriental island. The city is nicknamed “The City of the Gentle People.” The label speaks for itself. People in Dumaguete are very hospitable, warm and truly friendly. Dumaguete may not be known throughout all nations but beyond question I am proud to be a Dumagueteño. I am the youngest of five siblings of Mr. and Mrs. Jaime A. Bungcasan. My father is a retired bank manager and my mother is a housewife. We were all raised well by our parents and in return we are very thankful to them. Our eldest is currently working as a project manager at Saudi Arabia, second to the eldest is currently working as Sales and Marketing Manager at Robinson’s Bank Dumaguete, third to the eldest is working at a Post Office and fourth to the eldest is currently working as a call center agent. I am currently working as the Operations Manager for Veros Healthcare Services Inc. A business process outsourcing company offering medical transcription. I started working with the company five years ago as a Medical Transcriptionist Quality Assurance Officer and moved my way up to the position where I am now. Hard work and perseverance have helped me reach this position. I am currently married and we are blessed with one precious daughter.

This is actually my first time to teach online but I have lots of experience dealing with different kinds of persons in my field of work as an Operations Manager. With my work, I have to communicate with clients from the states, Europe and India thus maybe this will help me adjust to new environment and new individuals easily. I also handle trainings on all the probationary employees in our company, so I guess that would give me a little edge on teaching because with all these experiences, I have developed lots of self confidence in facing new challenges. Teaching is not an easy task but I do believe that when you give your 100% on what you do, you will be rewarded for it. Learn to love what you do and not only those but also develop a bond to your students. In this manner, one-on-one interaction between you and your student will be more effective. By doing this, you are helping them feel at ease and with that, learning would be more easier. We must always remember that we do not only do this to earn bt also to help our students. We are here to serve and nothing is more rewarding than sharing our God-given gift to others.

I really love to watch mind-boggling TV programs that is why I never miss episodes of CSI. I love the thrill of unsolved mysteries and crimes ending up construed. It’s like life wherein we encountered everyday problems and trials but it’s up to us to find a way to solve these predicaments. I also love reality TV series of The Amazing Race, Survivor, The Apprentice, and Fear Factor. These episodes not only can help you with your day-to-day life approach but can somehow teach you how to survive life. I also have my childish side of me that is why I love to watch Yu-Gi-Oh anime. These are more of strategy game TV series which can also be applied in life.
私は大胆なアイディアのテレビ番組が好きで、「CSI」は必ず見ています。未解決の謎や犯罪が解決されるまでのスリリングな展開が大好きです。毎日生きていく上で問題や試練に出くわしたとしても、そうした苦境を脱出する方法を見つけるのはすべて自分たち次第ということです。 「アメージングレース」「サバイバー」「アプレンティス」「フィア・ファクター」といったリアリティTVシリーズも大好きです。 これらのエピソードは、毎日の生活のヒントになるだけでなく、生き残るための方法を教えてくれます。 子どもっぽいところもあるので、アニメの「遊戯王」を見るのも好きです。 これらはどちらかというと戦略ゲームのTVシリーズですが、人生に応用することもできます。 - Goals and dreams as an English teacher
Teachers are so-called the “unsung heroes” and I do believe in that. They teach us things that we do not usually gain from our home. We somewhat owe them what we have right now. My goals and dreams as an english teacher are simple share, help, and be contented. Share your knowledge to your students, teach them well on what you have, and help them understood. You’ll never know, one day you’ll see your student become very successful and he/she is delivering his/her speech in english then you’ll say “he/she used to be my student in english.” Now that is contentment. Nothing is more rewarding than that.

I haven’t been to Japan or mingle with japanese people in my entire life but to my own opinion and from books, televisions, and magazines, I would consider japanese people to be very very respectful and obedient. I guess, we may have some culture similarities to them since they have settled in our country before, not to mention the ever famous Yamashita gold. With regards to Japan, there is no question, they still has the most advanced technology until today. Japan’s contribution are mostly well known for electronics, automotive and machinery.
私は日本へ行ったことも、日本人と交流したこともありません。ですが、本やテレビや雑誌から得た知識から、私は日本の人々はとても礼儀正しく素直な人たちだと思っています。ひょっとしたら文化的にいくつか共通点があるかもしれません。あの有名な山下財宝はさておき、フィリピンに入植した人たちもいましたから。日本は今でも最も先進的な技術を持っており、主にエレクトロニクス、自動車、機械などの分野での貢献は有名です。
